Finished the book? Here are some talking points to get the conversation started.
Spoiler alert! Save these until everyone has finished the book!

What was your first impression of the main character? Did it change as the story went on?
Who did you trust least at the beginning — and were you right?
What tropes did you enjoy most in this book? Click here for a list of common tropes.
At what point did you think you knew who the killer was?
Which clue did you think was the most important?
Was there a clue you completely missed that seemed obvious afterwards?
Which red herring fooled you the most?
Which character did you find the most interesting — and why?
Was there anyone you wanted to shake, shout at or tell not to open that door?
How important was the setting to the story? Would the mystery have worked as well somewhere else?
Did you agree with the way the investigation was handled?
What would you have done differently if you’d been investigating the case?
Which relationship in the book interested you most?
Which scene had you turning the pages fastest?
What themes did you notice beyond the murder itself?
Were you surprised by the final reveal? If not, when did you work it out?
Looking back, what was the biggest clue to the truth?
Did the killer’s motive make sense to you? Did you have any sympathy for them?
